In this pre-recorded class, I'm breaking down how to combine rules, boundaries, and consequences to increase both compassion and respect in your home. Gently parenting is not without discipline. We put our foot down, we just do it gently.
Definitions
There's a lot of confusion around what rules, boundaries, and consequences. In the class the distinctions are clarified so they can be used in a way that increasing cooperation while maintaining the relationship.
Rule Breaking
Without a plan for rule breaking, it's a lot easier to use punishments. In the class we discuss compassionate, yet effective ways to handle rule breaking.
Developmental Appropriateness
When you base your expectations on your children's developmental stage, they learn your values and to display positive behaviors at a pace that is not harmful to their development.
Consequences
There are two kinds of consequences. Depending on the circumstances, one may be more appropriate than the other.
